There was no shortage of racing for Jetstart at this past weekend's Great White North Dragon Boat Challenge. The team raced with and against many friends and competitors at this year's regatta, which also introduced the exciting 100m race. In the Premier Mixed Division, Jetstart finished a solid 6th in the 500m A Division Championship as well as a resilient 2nd in the 100m race. In the Womens Division, Entre Amies finished 3rd in the 500m Championship and 5th in the 100m race. In the Open Division, Entre Amis finished 4th in the 500m Championship and 3rd in the 100m race while Rip The Fondue pulled a strong 2nd in the 500m Championship and 1st in the 100m race. Special thanks to the Hydrophobic Dragons, Team Chaos, the MOFOs and Rip The Fondue. Jetstart is done racing in Canada for 2009. Next up: San Francisco! Congratulations everyone! |

Jetstart rebounded with a solid performance at this year's Woodstock Dragon Boat Festival, posting faster times after every race as the weather got worse throughout the day. Jetstart finished 2nd in A Division Final, beating out our rivals, Team Chaos and the MOFOs. Great job pulling together, team! |

Jetstart faced a very tough weekend of racing in Montreal, and while the mixed team struggled to find a good rhythym, the gender crews faired much better after being put up against some of the top crews. Jetstart finished 6th in Premier B Division 500m Final, missing out on 2nd place by less than a second, and 2nd in Premier B Division 250m Final in what was an extremely tight race with all boats finishing within less than 0.2 seconds! Further to that, after merging with our friends from the Hydrophobic Dragons, the women's crew finished 2nd in A Division 500m Final and 2nd in A Division 250m Final, while the men's crew finished 3rd in A Division 500m Final, 1st in A Division 250m Final and took home the "Best of the Fest" honours in the 100m race in 24-seconds flat.
